1. to treat with a dinner, give a dinner to: To celebrate Molly's birthday on Saturday, I bedinnered her.
I discovered today's Word of the Day while listening to Morning Edition and heard this story about Ammon Shea, a man who read the entire Oxford English Dictionary FOR FUN and then wrote a book (Reading the OED: One Man, One Year, 21,730 Pages) about it.
