What to do this weekend- SHOP!

Here are 4 great opportunities going on this weekend:

1) Don't forget about the Local Designer Trunk Show this weekend. Click here for more information. Try to stopping by to support some amazing local artists and see what they have created for spring.

NOTE! There is a venue change for this event-
It is now being held at Vino Libro in Glenwood Park:
933 Garrett Street
Atlanta, GA 30316

2) And so it begins.... the parade of Boutique Warehouse sales for the winter season kicks off this weekend. This one is being held at Atlantic Station, above Z Gallery. Over 25 local boutiques are participating and this is a great way to stock up on gorgeous items at ridiculously low prices. And although stores are starting to push out their winter merch and bring in sundresses for spring... it is still 20 degrees outside. So you will get lots of wear out of the items that are being sold at this warehouse sale.

3) Both Saks and Neimans have done their final mark-downs of the winter this past week, so swing by for some really low prices. Granted, the selection will be really, really picked through, but if you are willing to put in the time, you may find some great stuff.

4) Taste Boutique in Atlantic Station is doing "Half Store, Half Off" starting today. I believe this includes not only winter items, but their new spring merchandise. I would def check them out. They always have a really well- edited selection of premium designers.

Sales Sales Sales!

Now that the economy is not doing so hot (understatement of the year), retailers are feeling the pinch and are offer lots of sales. Now is a great time to shop if you have income to blow (or just feel like doing your part to stimulate the economy).
This is one reason why I choose to tie up my assets in shoes :)
Check some of these deals out:

Kelly's Closet- Boutique Party and Bridal Sample Sale

Kelly's Closet is one of my favorite boutiques in the city. Everything in the store is really unique. Kelly travels all over the world to find her clothes and carries many up-and-coming designers. One of my favorite finds is this great pale pink dress from Australia I purchased last Boutique Warehouse Sale. I have been hooked on this store ever since.

This Friday, she is having a big store event that includes food, drinks and great discounts.

This
Friday, October 24th, we are hosting our big bash. From 5pm till 8pm, we will be partying down, with plenty to eat and drink. Just for walking through the door, you get $25 closet bucks! (The free money expires on Friday, so make sure you use those puppies.) As most of you know, you can probably do some digging in my baskets and get something for free. Free drinks, free food, and a free goody from the treasure chest. Talk about a win, win, win. All we ask is that you give our birthday boy Aslan a birthday hug. Pretty darn easy, yes?

For those of you wanting to do a little more shopping, we are happy to print more bucks for you! You get $50 closet bucks when you spend $250 and $75 closet bucks when you spend $500 or more. Happy shopping! I would assume you know that you should probably give Aslan a few extra hugs when getting the extra bucks! All of the incentives (and free money) expire that evening, so you have to use your credit before you leave us. But, the hugs go on and on!

Kelly's Closet is also having a huge bridal samples sale. In case you haven't been to the store, half is a boutique and the other half of the store is a bridal salon. They just spend the weekend in New York at a bridal market and now have tons of samples in stock. I would make your appointment ASAP as these dresses will go fast.

Vintage Jeans at Blue Jeans- Get $$ for your old Denim

Blue Genes is now buying back your used premium denim (think 7s, True Religion, Paige, Joe's) and will give you $30 in Blue Genes Bucks toward the purchase of a new pair of premium denim. Granted, their new jeans usually cost about $200 on average, but this should help a little.

The denim you sell, along with other used jeans, will be sold in the store in the new "Vintage Section" where prices starts at just $29 (price range is $29 - $100). I know that the definition of "vintage" is really being used loosely here, but I don't care what they want to call it if that means I can get a pair of jeans for $30.

I am checking them out today and hopefully selling back 4 pairs of jeans. I will update this post with details on my visit next week.

This one's for the guys!- Sale

I've gotten several requests for more posts about men's fashion. I would love some suggestions. In the meantime go out and embrace your inner Tim Gunn (or James Bond?) and visit Barney's for some great discounts. You can shop online or at the Atlanta Co-op (at Phipps). My recommendations are button-downs by Trovata (shout-out to JAL) and anything Loomstate.

(and yes, the Blue Man Group-like forms are freaking me out).

Tobi.com- 25% off Everything!

Tobi.com is a website with tons of trendy, high-end brands, just like Singer22.com or ShopBop.com. If you are in need of fun, fall clothes I would take advantage of this offer- 25% off is pretty good. They have stylists you can instant message if you have a question about their products, which is a nice feature. I contacted a stylist once to ask a question about a top, but they never got back to me. Oh well.
Enjoy!

e-luxury sale!- additional 40% off

e-luxury is having a private sale (I have no idea what that means- there is no password, it is on the Internet, so how private could it really be?). They have reduced lots of items and are now offering an additional 40% off. Nothing blew my mind to the extent that I took out my credit card, but they do have some great deals that made me think twice. I was probably most persuaded by this great Marc Jacobs clutch that I liked since it came out- Now it is around $250, which is pretty good for Marc.

If you poke around on the site you can find deals on clothes as well. Their clothing selection wasn't that impressive to me, but then again I am not in the market for at $800 Missoni dress- I'm just sayin'.

Giant Boutique Warehouse Sale-Aug. 15-16

There is another warehouse sale coming up- Friday and Saturday August 15-16. There are lots of great stores participating- My two favorites are Bill Hallman and Kelly's Closet (OK, I'll pick a third- Market). All summer and spring fashions will be up to 90% off. I highly recommend going to this event- especially since you can wear most anything for another 2 months or so. Same rules apply as last time- wear something comfortable that you can change in and out of easily (and in front of others). Most vendor will take credit cards, but some will give you a little discount for cash. And all sales are final. If I remember correctly, parking is difficult so try to carpool.

20% off Denim at Barney's Co Op

This is a great way to save some money, clean out your closet, and help someone else. The Atlanta Co-Op is in Phipps and they have a really great selection of denim- Cheap Monday, J Brand, 7s, etc. While you are there, check out their accessories. Co Ops jewelry is always amazing but super expensive. I also love their bags and shoes. I find their bag selection to be consistently great, but their shoes hit or miss. Their "house brand" of shoes, appropriately names Co-Op has great styles, but slightly overpriced. Co Op used to carry more skincare brands when they had a mini apothecary in the store. Now they have a much smaller section, but still pretty solid. I love Ren and Sco (but I can't promise they still carry those lines since the apothecary section was paired down).

Project E Sample Sale- @ Fab'rik

As the title suggest fab'rik is having a sample sale this weekend for Project E. This brand makes distressed tees and polos and really hit its prime (in my opinion) about 2 years ago. They have recently branched off into dresses and more interesting tops- from the looks of more current seasons, they must have moved away from everything being so distressed. I was never a giant fan of their polos. I have several, but don't wear them that often. Project E is one of those brands that I would never ever pay full price for, but would gladly pick up when on sale. As it turns out, this weekend is one of those times. Fab'rik will be selling lots of style for both men and women for up to 70% off (prices between $10-$40).

Fab'rik is also a great place to buy a "going out outfit". If you are suddenly invited to a party, bachelorette outing, date and need something fun for a night, this is the place to go. Their prices are wonderful and they always have great items on the sale rack. Everytime I wear something from Fab'rik, I get complemented on it. My absolute favorite maxi dress is from there.
My only gripe is that it is often hard to find small sizes. Since they only buy a few of each item (which is great since you won't see lots of people with the same outfit), they usually run out of small sizes quickly. The ladies there say that they will order whatever size you needs, but I am def too impatient for that. Fab'rik has several locations, but I have only shopped at the midtown store.
